Having just finished recording a spoiler filled Alan Wake podcast (to be posted later today), I thought it might be a good idea to post this glimpse at the evolution of the games long development.  I dont have a lot of time but the gist is that this video gives a look back at the way the game evolved since its initial unveiling 5 or 6 years ago.  It really is amazing to see how far the game has come and how Remedy approached the development.  Take a gander at 1up’s evolution of Alan Wake video:

Wow, I had no idea it had been in development for so long. Must say it looks a lot better for all that extra time they took.

Also, at around 2:40, does that not look like hi-res Zelda grass?

Its always interesting to see the alpha/beta versions of games and sometimes even the prototypes. While sometimes the earlier versions of games seem more interesting having already played the actual product(RE2/4), it seems that Alan Wake truly improved in all departments and I don’t think the early version would have held the appeal of the new. Remedy definately did a great job in holding out with Alan Wakes Development.
