Why don’t you…Reach…for this video.
HO HO HO! See what I did there? I am just filled with wit this morning.
Here is something that grabbed my attention as I checked my inbox this morning. A old Halo: Reach video was released today (in 360p) and even though sometimes its still hard for me to…grasp…why the Halo series has become as popular as it is, it seems that Bungie has…reached…new heights in the franchise this time around.

Testify! Red Dead Redemption brings us “The Law”
My friends and fellow sycophants! I am hear to testify! Testify the words of the Lord who abounds us! The lord who avenge’s us! The lord who surrounds us! I am FILLED with the fury of flame as I travel along those wicked pastures into the light of the fury of GOD!
Yes my friends, though I may be traveling southward on those lonely roads, toward a RIGHTEOUS FEAST of the wicked I shall not leave you in accursed darkness. NO! Never would I leave my flock to claw at the walls of want! To send out cry’s which bounce off the bare ceilings of misery and finally come to rest on the ottoman of beguiled dreams (which inadvertently knocks over the vase of madness from the coffee table of lust).
I say NAY! Though I leave you for two full days I leave you with the newest trailer from Red Dead Redemption (my personal upcoming favorite for 2010).
Hit the jump to feel the warm rays of absolution!
Fallout: New Vegas. Pumped up in that “Carlos” way.
A new teaser trailer has been released for Fallout: New Vegas being developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Not much is known about the game. Not being a sequel to Fallout 3 it is supposed to take place in the same universe and provide “…the same sort of role-playing game experience seen in Fallout 3“. We’ll see what that means sometime this year.
One can’t help but notice the similarities between this teaser and the original Fallout 3 teaser. The music, the way the camera pans, the subject matter. Its almost the same teaser but with a different setting.

Forget Cake, P.B. Winterbottom Loves Pie
By Nick Henderson
Should video games be considered art? This question is the subject of a seemingly endless debate within the gaming industry. While games are fundamentally designed as entertainment, I am a firm believer that designers should be influenced not by the demands of the mass populace but rather the drive to create something unique and artistic. Without developers who push forward and create works of interactive art, this industry is doomed to stagnation. The Modern Warfares and the Halos are great but it’s the smaller, more unique titles that seem to be subtly influencing the development of big budget titles. Don’t worry, I don’t intend to open the “games as art” can of worms but there is always something to be said when a small team of game designers creates something as interesting and beautiful as “The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom.”
Bad Company 2 Just Made My List
I can’t speak much as to the quality of the original Bad Company but I have heard enough to know that the game is solid. Bad Company 2 is a game that I had already decided to put on the back burner until I finish some other games but after watching this new cinematic campaign trailer, i’m pumped. It looks like an exciting campaign with great production values but more importantly, it seems to have struck a balance between humor and serious subject matter. I’ll be playing this game within the first month of release… after I finish up FFXIII with comes out the week after. Enjoy.
